Thank you, thank you!

Thanks to my church friends who helped through prayer and in tangible ways to bring this year's holiday CD into being!

Learning Low D Whistle

If you've ever tried a low D whistle and been discouraged by the large span, try this little trick. Attach an extra-long (baritone) saxophone neck strap to the bottom of the instrument to help you hold it. You can then press it against yourself while you play to help you seal the holes more easily.

Finding friends to make music with and for

I'm blessed to play in a flute quartet and with a folk flautist/harp/harmonica player in casual and peaceful "non-rehearsals." How does one find like-minded musicians? Look online for community ensembles. You may find collaborators there. Take your casual ensemble to places where music can be therapeutic, such as care facilities. A friend of mine passed my music on to a therapist who works with Alzheimer's patients, and the therapist found that it soothed them.
